After the departure of Rolland Courbis, Bordeaux finished a disappointing 7th in the French championship and were eliminated in the UEFA Cup by the Polish club Katowice. But Bordeaux still managed to get a place in the Intertoto Cup, which led to the crazy European adventure of 1996!
In the Coupe de France, Bordeaux reached the quarter finals of the tournament but were eliminated by RC Strasbourg. Despite their exit in the semifinals, Bordeaux’s performance in the Coupe de France highlighted their ability to compete in domestic cup competitions.
This jersey is probably one of the most beautiful in the history of the Girondins!
